Frequently Asked

How often should I change engine oil?

You can find the manufacturer’s recommended service schedule in your owner’s manual. Rapid Oil Change follows the same manufacturer recommendations the dealer uses.

Do I need to go to my dealer to maintain my warranty?

No. Automakers do not require that services such as oil changes and preventative maintenance services be performed by their dealers. It is important to note that manufacturer’s maintenance schedules do vary. Call us for more information.

What is considered severe driving conditions?

You probably drive your car under what’s known as “severe service driving conditions.” These usually include:

  • Frequent trips of 10 miles or less at speeds of under 60 mph, like dropping the kids off at school or soccer practice
  • Traffic that requires frequent stops and idling, like rush hour commutes
  • High temperature operation and stops and starts in cold weather
  • Dusty conditions, which are more prevalent than we realize

Your engine can become very vulnerable to the consequences of stop and go driving, frequent idling, and dust. Severe service conditions without frequent oil changes can accelerate the depletion of the additive package in your car’s oil. This can create all sorts of other problems.

How do I decide whether to use conventional, high mileage or synthetic oil?

Please consult your owner’s manual to see what your vehicle manufacturer recommends for your vehicle. Be sure to match the specification listed in your owner’s manual to that listed on the container of the motor oil. The name or type of motor oil (conventional, synthetic, or synthetic blend) is incidental to meeting this specification. Rapid Oil Change uses only name brand oil that matches your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications and certification requirements.

Conventional

  • Good protection
  • Good performance
  • Good sludge protection

Full Synthetic

  • Best protection
  • Best performance
  • Better cleaning
  • Best fuel economy
  • Protects in temperature extremes

High Mileage

  • Specially designed for engines over 75,000 miles
  • Helps replenish worn and leaky seals
  • Helps restore lost compression
  • Helps reduce oil consumption
